In May this year, our CEO Ginni Saraswati and business partner Michelle Sorro guided their cohort of podcasters through 2021’s first round of The Podcast Accelerator. As a direct result of the program, 38 new podcasts have since launched on the major podcasting apps, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher.
Over eight weeks, Ginni, Michelle, and the Ginni Media team led participants step by step in a series of live Zoom sessions. The group had plenty of time to bounce ideas off one another and check in with the Client Concierge whenever they had questions between classes. They finished the course knowing how to develop and produce a great show, edit audio to a professional level, write show notes, and distribute episodes across the major podcasting apps. The Ginni Media design team created social media artwork for their first episodes as an extra treat.
We were delighted to see how members helped lift one another out of imposter syndrome and bonded with encouraging messages for each other throughout the course. Maybe that’s the power of audio (we like to think so!)
What do you do if you find a bug in your Apple?
Some things didn’t go exactly to plan! This year, Apple threw a wrench in the program’s schedule. As the launch date for our cohort’s podcasts approached, and while the Ginni Media team was setting up on Apple Podcasts, the tech giant released its iOS 14.5 update – an update that has since achieved notoriety in the podcasting world as it effectively broke the Apple Podcasts app for users and podcasters, and it also prevented many new podcasters from launching their shows on the platform.
With patience from our participants – and perseverance from Ginni, Michelle, and the Ginni Media team – all 38 new podcasters launched on Apple Podcasts within the month.

With this additional time, our participants were able to set up a sustainable recording schedule, practice editing, and continue exploring the possibilities that podcasting has to offer, all with our continued support.
